“Golden” Caleb Truax has confirmed what had already been widely reported: he expects to fight on the undercard of the Andy Kolle – Paul Williams event in San Jacinto, CA on September 25.
Truax, who is coming off an emphatic knockout win against Bobby Kliewer on August 29, says that no contract has been signed and no opponent has been found yet, “but Goossen-Tutor is going to start looking for someone for me after tomorrow’s card.” (September 11 in San Jose) Incidentally, that’s the same event that Antonio Johnson just got bounced from when his planned opponent, Francisco Santana, pulled out with an injury.
Truax is excited to be part of such high-profile event, with much-hyped heavyweight prospect Chris Arreola also scheduled to appear as a co-headliner. He’s hoping to get some TV time, but he knows that would require that the Kolle-Williams bout end early, “and that would be bittersweet.” Then again, business is business: “Whatever it takes to get televised!” he laughs. (No comment here on the assumption that the Kolle-Williams fight only ends early if Kolle loses.)
Look for the September 25 event on cable TV network Versus. More details to follow.
