Caleb Truax’s New Opponent for February 13

It’s eight days until his next fight and Caleb Truax’s opponent for February 13 has just been finalized.

Truax says that JJ Corn (47-21 with 26 knockouts) turned down the opportunity to fight him, so his opponent will now be Steve Walker of Hannibal, MO.

Walker has a record of 22-19 with 16 knockouts, and has been in with a number of good fighters – none better than Arthur Abraham, to whom he lost by second-round KO back in 2004.  Walker has fought as a welter, junior middle, and middleweight, topping out at 164# for an April 2008 match with George Tahdooahnippah.  Rather than a pug on a long losing streak, Walker is a professional opponent who calls himself “The Spoiler” and has won two of his last six fights and six of his last twelve.

Asked for an appraisal of his new opponent, Truax observed that “He’s got a winning record and he’s a veteran, and that’s what we’re looking for.”
