Some are saying that this will be the highest profile boxing event in Minnesota this year. Maybe, but probably not. But a self-respecting Minnesota boxing fan would not allow himself (or herself, Lolo) to miss it.
What to watch for: Phil Williams hopes for a win against his first “name” opponent, the faded but tough Antwun Echols. Rising middleweight prospect Caleb Truax faces a southpaw, Durrell Richardson, who has built a respectable record in the junior middleweight division. Marcus Oliveria hopes to continue his rise in the light heavyweight division by taking Otis Griffin of television fame. Willshaun Boxley and Thomas Snow get another chance at a bout after their previous scheduled meeting was delayed by a shooting. Talented amateur Michael Faulk finally turns pro after a couple of false starts, facing Mexican slugger Marvin Rodriguez. And Ugandan import Ismail Muwendo makes another Minnesota appearance , facing Josh Jungjohann.
