Gary Shaw Productions and Grand Casino Hinckley bring an evening of big-league boxing to Minnesota this Friday, August 6th.
What to watch for: In a battle of unbeaten prospects, Chris Avalos of Lancaster, CA takes on the lesser known Christopher Martin of Chula Vista. Avalos will be the favorite, but Martin can be expected to give Avalos as stiff a test as he’s had yet in his young career. Fast-rising cruiserweight prospect Lateef Kayode takes a nice step up against Alfredo Escalera Jr, who has a winning record against fighters with winning records, and whose father was once a world champion in the super featherweight division. Andy Kolle’s fans will undoubtedly show up in Hinckley to see him face Alabama’s Daryl Salmon. 29-year old prospect Michael Anderson puts his not-yet-beaten status on the line against notorious 0-stealer Hector “The Fighting Chihuahua” Orozco. Matt Vanda is expected to dispatch Jose Medina (who has been knocked out 13 times). Conversation starter: Jose Medina owns a win against Jose Medina. And opening things up for the evening will be a match between big heavyweights Nagy Aguilera and Maurice Harris.
